Zeekr, a new electric vehicle brand under China's Geely Group, has launched its first electric SUV, the Zeekr 001, and announced plans to target the European market.

The Zeekr 001 boasts impressive specifications, with a range of up to 700 kilometers (435 miles) on a single charge and a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). It also features advanced technology such as a fully digital cockpit and an in-car AI assistant.

The launch of the Zeekr brand and the 001 SUV marks Geely's latest move into the electric vehicle market, which is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years. The Chinese automaker already owns Volvo Cars and has a significant stake in Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz.

Zeekr plans to sell the 001 SUV online, offering a direct-to-consumer sales model that it says will reduce costs and streamline the buying process. The company also plans to open physical showrooms in select cities across Europe.

The company has ambitious plans for growth, with a goal of achieving 1 million annual sales by 2030 and becoming a leading brand in the global electric vehicle market.

The launch of the Zeekr 001 SUV is set to increase competition in the European electric vehicle market, which is already crowded with established players such as Tesla, Volkswagen, and Renault. However, with its advanced technology and direct-to-consumer sales model, Zeekr may be well positioned to capture a share of this growing market.
