Cadillac XT5 Doesn’t Hold Its Value Very Well, Study Finds

According to a recent study conducted by automotive research company iSeeCars, the Cadillac XT5 SUV doesn't hold its value very well when compared to other vehicles in its class. The study analyzed the depreciation of over 8.2 million vehicles sold between 2020 and 2021, and found that the Cadillac XT5 had a depreciation rate of 43.3% after three years.

This puts the Cadillac XT5 in the bottom 10 of all vehicles studied, and also makes it the least valuable luxury midsize SUV model in this regard. In comparison, the Lexus RX had a depreciation rate of just 29.4%, which is significantly lower than that of the Cadillac.

There are several factors that contribute to the Cadillac XT5's relatively poor resale value, including its high starting price, lackluster interior design, and less reliable history than other luxury SUVs. The study also found that some other Cadillac models, such as the CT6 and XTS, have even higher depreciation rates than the XT5.

Overall, the study highlights the importance of considering depreciation when deciding on a new vehicle purchase. Those looking to buy a luxury midsize SUV that holds its value well may want to consider options like the Lexus RX or the BMW X5, rather than the Cadillac XT5.
