Luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin announced a recall of approximately 6,000 cars in Canada and the United States due to potential issues with the transmission system. The recall affects all 2012-2014 model-year DB9, Rapide, Vanquish, V8 Vantage, and V12 Vantage vehicles, and the company has advised owners to immediately take their affected vehicles to a certified dealer for inspection and potential repairs.

According to Aston Martin, some vehicles may have been fitted with an improperly manufactured electronic circuit board inside the transmission control module. This defect could potentially cause the vehicles to not shift gears properly, which could increase the risk of accidents and injuries to drivers and passengers.

Aston Martin has stated that it is aware of several incidents related to the defect, including a vehicle that crashed into a wall due to a lack of acceleration. The recall is set to begin in late November 2023, and affected owners will be notified through the mail with instructions on how to proceed. The company will replace the electronic circuit board at no cost to the owner.

This recall is yet another setback for the British carmaker, which has struggled financially in recent years. However, the company has emphasized that it is committed to ensuring all affected customers are provided with the necessary service to fix the issue.
