The Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) and its collaborative project with Aston Martin, known as Project Arrow, has hired Fraser Dunn as its chief engineer. Dunn brings a wealth of experience in engineering, having previously been head of vehicle engineering at McLaren Automotive, and has also held key engineering positions at Sauber F1 and BMW.

Project Arrow is a 3.5-year research project focused on the development of a low-carbon, high-performance electric vehicle. The project aims to bring together leading UK automotive engineering talent to create a breakthrough electric vehicle technology platform.

Dunn's appointment is an important step in the development of the project, which is funded by the UK government's Office for Low Emission Vehicle (OLEV) and the APC, as well as industry partners such as Warwick Manufacturing Group and Delta Motorsport.

Speaking about his appointment, Dunn said: "I am delighted to be joining Project Arrow. This project has the potential to make a significant contribution to the UK automotive industry, and I look forward to working with the talented team to develop a cutting-edge, low-carbon, high-performance electric vehicle."

Project Arrow is expected to generate valuable insights into the market and technical potential for high-performance, low-carbon electric vehicles. The project also aims to address the skills gap that may exist in the UK automotive industry in relation to developing advanced electric vehicle technologies.

With Dunn on board, Project Arrow looks set to take a significant step forward in the development and commercialization of electric vehicle technology in the UK.
