Traditionally, the Malibu has been offered with a range of trims, some of which can be confusing for buyers. However, Chevrolet is making the decision-making process easier by streamlining the lineup for the 2024 model year.
The new lineup will see the base LS model, mid-range LT, and top-of-the-line Premier trim levels. The LS model comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, while the LT and Premier get a more powerful 2.0-liter turbo engine. All models will come standard with a continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The LS model comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the LT and Premier trims come with a larger 8-inch screen. Other amenities, such as dual-zone climate control and leather upholstery, are available on the higher-level trims.
Under the hood, the 1.5-liter engine produces 163 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, while the 2.0-liter engine churns out 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
Chevy says the new trim lineup offers a better value proposition for buyers, as they can purchase a well-equipped mid-range LT model for a lower price than before. The Premier trim, on the other hand, offers more premium features and a more powerful engine for those looking for the top-of-the-line Malibu.
The 2024 Chevy Malibu is expected to start arriving at Canadian dealerships in the coming months. With its simplified trim level lineup and updated features, it's sure to appeal to a wide range of buyers.
